Windy Times

For years, wind turbines have been on the verge of going from novelty to mainstream in the Midwest. An article in yesterday's Chicago Tribune talks about a new wind farm in Michigan that's scheduled to open in a few weeks, as well as the growth in the industry. It notes that Illinois is 11th in the country in the amount of electricity generated by wind power. New laws on the books here in the state that require utilities to buy a higher percentage of their electricity from renewable sources should increase our use of wind turbines in the coming years. Good to see the capacity is growing to make that possible.
